About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Coach to lead our Academy team at SZ United FC. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our footballers and coaching staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and deliver training sessions, matchdays, and player development programs
  • Develop and implement training syllabi and session plans
  • Lead the management and oversight of team manager training sessions and matchdays
  • Deliver coaching on club nights and develop player pathways
  • Collaborate with coaches and team managers to prioritize and enhance player development
  • Strengthen connections with our soccer school Skillz UK to transition players into SZ United
  • Build relationships with academies for showcase games, including ongoing development with Catania FC
  • Work alongside coaches, managers, and Academy Directors to offer hands-on support and elevate coaching standards

Requirements
  • UEFA C License
  • Availability to work Monday-Thursday pm, Saturdays 8.30am-12.30pm, and full schedule outlined below
  • Access to a car with a driver's license
  • Residence within the Croydon or Sutton area (or within 30 minutes' drive)
Working Hours

During the season:

  • Monday: pm (Club training night)
  • Tuesday: pm (Club training night)
  • Wednesday: pm (Team training night)
  • Thursday: pm (Team training night)
  • Saturdays: 8.30am-12.30pm (Home Match Days)
  • 4 hours Admin & Planning time per week

During half terms and school holidays:

  • Saturdays: 8.30am-12.30pm (Home Match Days) - usually October & Feb half terms
  • 4 hours Admin & Planning time per week

Pre-Season:

  • Monday: pm (Club training night)
  • Tuesday: pm (Club training night)
  • Wednesday: pm (Team training night)
  • Thursday: pm (Team training night)
  • 4 hours Admin & Planning time per week

Overtime available:

  • SZ United Football Camps - all day coaching during half terms and school holidays
  • Skillz UK Football Classes - sessions available Monday-Friday after school
  • SZ United FC Little League - Fridays pm during term time
