- Production SQL Support: Provide expert-level SQL support to the Operations and Development teams, ensuring seamless database operations.
- Third-Party Liaison: Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve issues with bespoke systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Capacity Management and Security Auditing: Perform regular capacity management tasks and security audits to ensure the database estate is secure and efficient.
- Data Security: Maintain data security within the Database estate, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Documentation and Implementation: Document and implement all SQL configuration changes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Development Application Implementation: Implement development applications changes, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
- Security Controls and Best Practices: Enforce group security controls and best practices, ensuring a secure database environment.
- Troubleshooting: Collaborate with IT Development teams to troubleshoot production systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- DBA Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on SQL Server.
- Advanced T-SQL Skills: Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and scripts.
- Microsoft SQL Server Stack: Strong understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server stack, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
- PowerShell and Automation Tools: Strong working knowledge of PowerShell and automation deployment tools, such as Azure DevOps and OctopusDeploy.
- Best Practices and IT Operations: Excellent knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, HADR environment.
- Windows Server Administration: Good working knowledge of Windows Server Administration, with a focus on IS Administration.
- Programming Languages: Ability to read and understand programming languages, such as VB.NET and C#.NET.
- Cloud Services: Knowledge of cloud services, including Azure SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
- Applications Administration: Experience with applications administration, including virtualization software, such as Hyper-V.
- Professional Qualifications: Degree-level qualification in a computer-related discipline and/or professional qualification(s), such as Microsoft certifications.
- Business Outcomes: Understanding and focus on business outcomes, with the ability to drive results.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with development teams.
- Systems and IT Operations: Experience with systems and IT operations, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure.
- High-Pressure Situations: Confident and composed in high-pressure situations, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
