Job Title: Production DBA

We are seeking a highly skilled Production DBA to join our IT Systems Integration team at Connells Group HQ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database environment, providing production-level SQL support to our operations and development teams, and liaising with third-party vendors to resolve issues with bespoke systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the Connells Group database environment, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Provide production-level SQL support to operations and development teams, resolving issues and optimizing database performance.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors to resolve issues with bespoke systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Perform regular capacity management tasks and security auditing to ensure the integrity of our database environment.
  • Maintain data security within the database estate, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Document and implement all SQL configuration changes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Implement development applications changes, ensuring seamless integration with our database environment.
  • Enforce group security controls and best practices, ensuring a secure and compliant database environment.
  • Work closely with IT development teams on troubleshooting production systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Excellent DBA skills with at least 3-5 years' experience.
  • Advanced T-SQL skills, with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and OctopusDeploy.
  • Experience with virtualization software, such as Hyper-V.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows Server Administration and specifically IS Administration.
Desirable Skills:
  • Ability to read and understand programming languages, such as VB.NET and C#.NET.
  • Cloud services experience, including Azure SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
  • Applications administration skills, with experience in managing and maintaining complex systems.
  • Degree-level qualification in computer-related discipline and/or professional qualification(s), such as Microsoft certifications.
