About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communications Team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust as a Communications Assistant Apprentice. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of all communications, including external and internal functions.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Communications and Engagement Specialist and the wider communications team in the delivery of all communications.
- Assist in the provision of the Targeted Lung Health Check programme and development of a new Community Diagnostic Centre.
- Maintain the photo library, distribution lists, and contact databases.
- Respond to correspondence and log and track responses.
- Support the development and collation of communications resources.
- Monitor media in local and national press and provide summaries to the wider team.
- Maintain media and stakeholder databases.
- Undertake action notes at meetings and tracking of actions.
- Answer the departmental telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
- Act as a guardian for the NHS and Trust brand guidelines.
- Capture imagery/video and log filming and photography consent documentation.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Person Specification
- GCSE A*- C in English Language or equivalent.
- GCSE A*- C or equivalent in Mathematics.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to obtain, analyse, interpret, and communicate complex information rapidly and successfully.
- Professional attitude when dealing with internal and external audiences.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to working within the healthcare setting.
