Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality specialist clinical assessments and treatment plans for children, young people, and their families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical advice and support to colleagues within the multidisciplinary team. You will work collaboratively with nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists, and child psychotherapists to develop and implement individually tailored treatment plans.

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing high-quality specialist clinical assessments, including psychiatric and physical investigations, to children, young people, and their families.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Working as part of a friendly and supportive team to deliver a safe, effective, and caring service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • MBBS qualification or equivalent.
  • Entry onto the specialist register currently or within 6 months.
  • AC status or achievable within 3 months.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent clinical skills using biopsychosocial perspective and wider medical knowledge.
Benefits

This exciting opportunity comes with a competitive salary and benefits package. The job attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, in addition to an (up to) £8000 relocation allowance. The RRP payment is paid in four instalments: £5000 on appointment, £5000 at 12-month anniversary, £6500 at 30-month anniversary, and £8500 at 48-month anniversary. Part-time employees receive a pro-rata payment.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have experience of clinical research/service evaluation and evidence of education, research, or audit experience. Excellent clinical skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues are essential for success in this role.
