**Teaching Personnel** is seeking an Academic Mentor to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in London. As an Academic Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education.

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic individual to work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver both academic and emotional support. The successful candidate will assist teachers in the delivery of lessons across a broad curriculum, helping students engage with learning materials and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with a variety of learning needs, behavioral challenges, and emotional difficulties.
  • Fostering a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students to help improve their confidence and self-esteem.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A strong desire to support students with diverse needs.
  • The ability to work flexibly across different key stages (KS1 to KS4) and with students who may present a range of complex needs.
  • Commitment to inclusion and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students and promoting positive change.
