About the Job

A SEMH teaching specialist is required to join our team in Wandsworth. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and dedicated teacher who can create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment for students who cannot be in mainstream school.

This role involves developing individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy, and numeracy skills for students across KS1 and KS2. You will have the opportunity to focus on and develop one subject for students in these age groups.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum and excellent CPD training. Our school provides a range of unique enabling environments that maximise learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs. This allows our students to gain independence and life skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement personalised educational programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support.
  3. Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and development.
  4. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed.
  5. Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development.
  6. Work with and lead a support team within the classroom.

Requirements

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. Experience working with students who cannot be in mainstream school is essential.
  3. Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred but not necessary.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for success.
