- Promote Mental Health and Wellbeing: Promote the mental health and wellbeing of the individuals you support, providing them with information on relevant services and resources.
- Attend Training and Development: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, ensuring you are equipped to provide the best possible support.
- Confidentiality and Boundaries: Understand and maintain confidentiality, as well as respect the boundaries of the individuals you support.
- Safeguarding and Lone-Working: Understand and follow Light's safeguarding and lone-working policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
- Excellent Listening Skills: Possess good listening skills and empathy, enabling you to build strong relationships with the individuals you support.
- Caring and Positive Attitude: Demonstrate a caring and positive attitude, with a genuine desire to help and support others.
- Interest in Women's Mental Health: Have an interest in women's mental health around childbirth, and be willing to learn and develop your knowledge in this area.
- Non-Judgmental and Equal Opportunities: Possess a non-judgmental attitude, with an awareness of equal opportunities and the ability to work in accordance with equal opportunities principles.
- Confidentiality and Boundaries: Understand and maintain confidentiality, as well as respect the boundaries of the individuals you support.
- Full Training and Support: Receive comprehensive training and support to ensure you are equipped to provide the best possible support.
- Develop Your Skills: Develop your people and listening skills, as well as gain experience working with individuals who are struggling with their mental health.
- Gain Awareness and Understanding: Gain a deeper understanding of perinatal mental health illnesses and the support services available in the area.
Light provides reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred while volunteering, including travel expenses, meal expenses, and parking fees.
