Care Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Personal Care Advocate to join our team in Caithness. As a Personal Care Advocate, you will work with individuals in their own homes, providing personalized support to help them maintain their independence and quality of life.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in social care, excellent communication skills, and a caring approach. Ability to make decisions, use initiative, and stay calm in challenging situations are essential qualities for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide personalized support to service users, assisting with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with service users, families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless care delivery.
  3. Report any changes or concerns to the line manager, maintaining accurate records of service user interactions.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma or equivalent in Social Care or a related field (SVQ 2/3 preferred).
  2. Previous experience in social care, preferably in a home care setting.
  3. Basic IT skills, including email and report management.

  • A competitive salary range of £23,400 - £25,545 per annum (£12.00-£13.10 hourly), depending on experience.
  • A flexible shift pattern, with 4 on 4 off rotation.
