Job Summary
This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in supporting our Engineering team with day-to-day responsibilities, gaining hands-on experience in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and working towards a Level 3 qualification.
Main Responsibilities
- Attend a technical college as required, leading to a recognised NVQ qualification;
- Achieve professional registration as an Engineering Technician (Mechatronics) upon completing the NVQ qualification;
- Maintain a logbook throughout the apprenticeship period, documenting projects, work undertaken, and skills learned;
- Develop a thorough understanding of Health and Safety principles within the workplace;
- Become proficient in using a wide range of hand tools and associated workshop machine tools;
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings effectively;
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance from written and verbal instructions, as well as drawings, within an assigned trade;
- Demonstrate skills and processes by working independently or within a team;
- Undertake tasks as instructed, contributing significantly to the business's overall success;
- Maintain general good housekeeping of the workplace locations;
- Present a smart appearance and act professionally, adhering to company values;
- Participate in ad-hoc projects;
- Perform other reasonable duties associated with the role as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- GCSEs in English, Maths, and a Science-related subject at Grade A to C (4-9) or equivalent;
- A strong motivation to learn and adapt quickly;
- A commitment to health and safety, as well as food safety;
- Risk awareness;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Adaptability and flexibility;
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills;
