About the Role

BAM Nuttall is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team, responsible for delivering large civil engineering projects across Scotland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective communication with the Framework Director, Regional Commercial Manager, project management, and other associated disciplines.
  • Be responsible for staff matters, including staff succession awareness, recruitment, development, attitude, and behavioural issues.
  • Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting, and input to subcontract documents.
  • Ensure audits are carried out and feedback is provided to the business.
  • Provide commercial input to contacts with clients and client representatives.
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues and provide input to area commercial discussions/reviews.
  • Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
  • Ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts, and company tied costs.
  • Obtain cash-flow information and present all reports.
  • Provide input to dispute identification and management.
  • Produce and negotiate insurance claims with insurer representatives.
  • Agree terms and engage legal and commercial consultants and monitor their accounts.
  • Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation.
  • Carry out sub-contract document vetting and input to sub-contract documentation.
Requirements
  • Successful experience as a Commercial Manager working with multiple projects and a minimum of 4 years in this role.
  • Joint Venture experience.
  • Member of a Professional Institution or working towards application of the ICES, or similar.
  • Open collaborative approach and willing to help and assist those around you.
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant Commercial, Construction, or Project Management qualification (preferred but not essential).
