Civil Engineering Graduate Scheme Overview

Network Rail's 2-year Civil Engineering graduate scheme is designed to equip you with the skills and experience needed to succeed in your engineering career. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the railway system, including its infrastructure, operations, and maintenance.

Throughout the scheme, you'll be exposed to various placements and activities across different disciplines, including Track, Structures, and Geotechnics. You'll contribute to the delivery of major investments and learn how to manage and maintain the railway asset efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in business familiarisation to gain an awareness and understanding of the railway system
  • Contribute to the delivery of major investments and learn how to manage and maintain the railway asset
  • Develop your knowledge and skills in civil engineering through formal placements and training

Requirements

  • Minimum 2:2 in an Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) accredited degree
  • Flexibility to travel for training opportunities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
