Transform Your Engineering Career
We're seeking ambitious Civil Engineers to join our 2-year graduate scheme at Network Rail. This comprehensive program will equip you with the skills and experience needed to excel in your chosen engineering discipline.
The scheme is designed to develop your technical expertise, leadership abilities, and problem-solving skills. You'll work on a range of projects, from infrastructure development to sustainable management, contributing to the UK's drive towards Net Zero.
Your Journey Begins
Apart from business familiarisation, you'll participate in formal placements within your selected discipline. Throughout the scheme, you'll be exposed to various activities, including managing and maintaining railway assets efficiently and effectively.
You'll choose from asset disciplines like Track, Structures, and Geotechnics, experiencing everything from assessment to renewal. As a Civil Engineer Graduate, you'll have the opportunity to design, assess, and maintain railway infrastructure.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role, you should possess a minimum 2:2 in an Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) accredited degree. Flexibility to travel occasionally for training opportunities is also required. We look for logical thinkers who can find creative solutions to complex problems.
We value resourceful individuals who are hardworking, good at managing time, and motivating themselves. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels are essential. Building relationships with peers and colleagues is also crucial.
What You'll Get Out of It
In your first few weeks, you'll register with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and cover the registration costs. Each placement and training opportunity will be tailored to help you become either a qualified Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
Our support extends beyond your two-year graduate scheme. You'll continue to receive guidance as you transition into your first appointment, where you'll further develop your professional skills and take the next step on your career journey.
