Job Title: SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and Learning Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support sessions for students, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding this.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
Working Hours:

This role is Monday to Friday, term time only. Both part-time and full-time applicants are welcome to apply.
