Production Planning Director

About the Role
Natures Way Foods Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to lead our production planning function. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans that drive efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily production schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
- Measure and report key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and improve systems, processes, and tasks to ensure efficient operation of the production planning function
- Ensure a consistent approach and tools for scheduling all production sites through the same methodology
People and Team Development
- Develop and implement training plans for production planning team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Support team performance through clear communication and regular feedback
Capacity and Scenario Planning
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term capacity plans for all production sites
- Introduce and maintain processes for warehouse and logistics capacity planning
- Create periodic scenario planning processes to consider new business, changes to manufacturing, and new equipment
- Support product development and new customer briefs through ad-hoc scenario planning
Systems and Process Improvement
- Develop and implement 'best in class' systems for tactical and strategic planning requirements
- Create a long-term system roadmap to drive performance and efficiency
- Ensure systems and processes are maintained and utilized as key tools for production planning
Requirements
- Extensive experience in production planning leadership roles in a similar or related industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field
- Professional accreditation in a related field or specialization
- Proven experience of leading and developing high-performance teams
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to visualize the 'bigger picture'
- Strong interpersonal skills and an active team player
- Demonstrated experience of identifying, implementing, and embedding key projects or initiatives
- Ability to operate at pace and in ambiguous situations
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
