Job Summary
The Medical Psychology service at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist psychological assessment, support, and treatment to medical patients. The neuropsychology service offers expert input to the neurosciences service, including neurosurgery, neurology, neurophysiology, stroke, and neurorehabilitation.
Main Duties
We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist to provide specialist clinical services within the neuropsychology team. This role will involve working across different service areas, including general neuropsychology, neuro-oncology, stroke, neurorehabilitation, and functional neurological conditions.
About the Role
The post holder will be provided with training and supervision from senior clinicians to support their development in the role. We encourage newly qualified psychologists to apply, and a development plan will be put in place to support their progress.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience of specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment of clients across various care settings.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Minimum psychology degree 2:1.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology.
- HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Well-developed skills in communicating effectively with clients, families, carers, and professional colleagues.
- Skills in using complex methods of psychological and neuropsychological assessment, intervention, and management.
