Academic Lecturer in Digital Media Studies

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our team as a Lecturer in Media, Ethics & Social Change. This is a fixed-term position, funded through a research grant, that provides cover for faculty on leave.
The successful candidate will teach remotely on our online distance learning degree MA Media, Ethics & Social Change. This degree teaches students how to use digital media in a meaningful way to bring about positive change across various sectors, and examines digital media in the context of activism and social justice.
The role involves delivering several short (7 week) modules on topics including: digital media theory; digital media ethics; media and climate change; race, culture and media; public relations; and participatory media. The successful candidate will have the academic expertise to convene, teach and assess modules on these topics, and to manage the online learning area and student discussions.

Requirements:

Working Arrangements:
This is a part-time position, with up to 0.9 FTE/ 33.75 hours per week. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need). The University requires that work undertaken for the University is performed in the UK. Aside from some initial induction meetings, this is a remote-working position and you will not be required to work on campus at Sussex unless you would like to.
