We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll and Pension Manager to join our dynamic team at Barking & Dagenham College. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and pension processes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the monthly payroll process for over 550 employees, including subsidiary companies, using Resource Link software.
- Manage all year-end processes, including TPS and LGPS, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Train, develop, and appraise payroll and pension staff, and support the Head of Finance in delivering payroll-related projects.
- Ensure that payroll and pension production meets statutory requirements, good practices, and external agency requirements.
- Handle complex payroll control account reconciliations, pension schemes, and RTI returns.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) or working towards CIPP membership.
- Relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
- Substantial pension/payroll experience at a senior level, preferably in the FE, HE, public sector, or complex organization.
- Ability to line-manage and supervise staff.
- Payroll costing and accounting principles.
