Job Summary:

  • To lead and supervise a team of care staff on night shifts, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality care and support.
  • To assist Deputy and Home Managers by providing leadership and guidance to the care team.
  • To act as the senior person on duty at night, overseeing the smooth operation of the care service and reporting any concerns or issues to the Home Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SUPPORTING AND ASSISTING: To provide leadership and guidance to the care team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • CARE STAFF SUPERVISION: To supervise and support care staff during night shifts, providing coaching and guidance where necessary.
  • RESIDENT SAFETY AND DIGNITY: To ensure that residents' safety and dignity are maintained at all times, taking ownership of any concerns or issues.
  • TASK DELEGATION: To delegate tasks fairly to all team members, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute and develop their skills.
  • TRAINING AND INDUCTION: To participate in the induction and training of new care staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.

Requirements:

  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years' experience in a caring environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and support.
  • QUALIFICATIONS: NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or an agreement to undertake relevant training and development.
  • SKILLS AND QUALITIES: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire confidence and enthusiasm in residents and staff. Ability to prioritise own workload and the workload of other staff, with a strong focus on resident safety and dignity.

Benefits:

  • SALARY: £21,000 - 24,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
  • STARTER BONUS: £500 upon completion of probationary period.
