Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Urological Surgeon to join our team at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Urologist in Robotic Surgery, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in robotic radical prostatectomy and cystectomy. The post-holder will take part in the on-call rota at middle grade level, supervising the work of junior trainees on the Urology Ward and in the Emergency Department.

Job Responsibilities

As a Robotic Urology Specialist, you will work with the team of Consultant urological surgeons at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and visiting consultants from other Alliance hospitals. You will participate in the general urological workload of the department, including undertaking a weekly flexible cystoscopy list. You will also be expected to undertake immediate urological operations unsupervised and participate in a consultant on-call rota.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
  • Postgraduate degree MRCS or equivalent
Desirable
  • Postgraduate Research degree
Knowledge and Experience

Essential
  • 3 years' experience at SpR level in Urology
  • Ability to undertake immediate urological operations unsupervised and participate in a consultant on-call rota
Desirable
  • Published clinical papers
  • Presented clinical research at Academic meetings
  • Console training on Da Vinci Robot
Skills and Capabilities

Desirable
  • Transrectal Prostate Ultrasound experience
