About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Family Support Worker to join our team in Bury MASH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a professional social work service to children in need and their families in accordance with the principles of the Children Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional social work service to children in need and their families.
  • Undertake enquiries and assessments of children who are considered to have possibly suffered or who may be likely to suffer significant harm.
  • Work in partnership with service users in various settings, including offices, homes, and other suitable locations.
  • Act as a representative of the Local Authority at court proceedings, providing verbal evidence and representing the Authority's actions.
  • Attend child protection conferences, statutory reviews, core groups, department meetings, and contribute professionally to the course of proceedings.
  • Represent the Local Authority when cases are being transferred between authorities.
  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of plans for children in need, including child protection, looked after children, and family support.
  • Participate in the administration and organization of all work related to social work duties associated with the post.
  • Provide information to assist in planning, implementation, or monitoring of services as required for departmental, Department of Health, or other official purposes.

Requirements

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience of a Social Work post in a statutory or voluntary agency working with children and young people in a field, residential, or family placement setting.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this permanent Family Support Worker role is estimated to be around £33,024 - £41,418 per annum, depending on experience.
