About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Regional Casualty to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for leading the underwriting strategy and appetite for the relevant line of business, working closely with our Chief Underwriting Officer and other senior leaders to drive growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Lead a team of underwriters to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions
  • Collaborate with capacity providers to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure our underwriting practices remain best-in-class
Requirements
  • Significant experience in casualty underwriting, including senior authority level roles
  • Strong understanding of the commercial insurance mid-market and the UK regulatory environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt easily to influence across a wide range of stakeholders
  • High levels of visibility and accountability
