Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising qualified and unqualified staff, managing safeguarding referrals, and completing risk assessments. They will also be expected to work closely with other teams to facilitate hospital discharges, care for patients nearing the end of life, and promote independence and rehabilitation for patients on the ward.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

About the Role

  • Supervise and manage a team of staff to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Manage safeguarding referrals and complete risk assessments
  • Work closely with other teams to facilitate hospital discharges and care for patients nearing the end of life
  • Promote independence and rehabilitation for patients on the ward
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of the ward and the trust as a whole

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with active registration
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification
  • Evidence of continuous professional development to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Post Registration qualification in Acute and Chronic disease management
  • Nurse Prescribing
