Job Title: Director, Bureau of Management

The Director of Community Engagement position is a full-time, exempt role primarily responsible for the grants process and significant planning and production of communications and fund development activities. This person reports to and collaborates with the Executive Director.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and multi-tasking capabilities. Community Engagement related to grants involves working with local non-profit organizations throughout the application process and engaging with volunteers. Responsibilities include tracking applications using the online portal, conducting site visits, and promoting narratives that affirm the leadership of existing community leaders and support community-led efforts.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Community Engagement:
  1. Build relationships with community members and leaders to promote health equity in the region.
  2. Implement a community grants process aligned with the organization's strategic plan, incorporating a trust-based philanthropy model.
  3. Manage site visits, oversee the grants database, and create reports for the Board and auditors.
Communications and Development:
  1. Promote awareness of health equity issues in the communities served through e-blasts, newsletters, and other communication channels.
  2. Perform administrative tasks such as donor acknowledgment letters, CRM data entry, and event promotion.

Professional Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; experience in social work or public health preferred.
  2. A minimum of five years of professional experience.
  3. Nonprofit or foundation experience preferred.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  5. Familiarity with Network for Good and Foundant (grants management) database management is a plus.
