Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Podiatrist to join our team in North Wales, providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex medical and clinical needs. As a member of our highly skilled and experienced foot ulcer team, you will work independently in community and acute settings, developing your wound care knowledge and skills.

The successful candidate will be fully supported by a team of experienced wound care podiatrists and will work within joint vascular team clinics and other multidisciplinary team elements. We also offer full support for postgraduate training and qualifications linked to the role.

Main Duties of the Job

  • You will work as an autonomous practitioner, being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of all service users in your care.
  • To make appropriate judgments on and be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of podiatric care for your patient caseload, which will predominantly consist of service users with complex medical and clinical needs, including:
  • MSK Podiatry
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic neuropathy
  • Chronic disease
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Vascular insufficiency
  • Wound management/tissue viability
  • Terminally ill service users
  • Care will be provided in a range of primary and secondary care settings, the majority of which will be in isolation, without the support of podiatry colleagues, working as a single-handed practitioner. Supervision will be largely self-driven through attendance at departmental briefings and supervision meetings and through seeking the advice of peers.
