Role Summary and Purpose

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical rate and capacity determination processes, identifying opportunities for quality submissions, and pricing business at the higher of market or technical rates without compromising long-term client relationships. This role requires extensive travel and demands strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Underwriting: Develop a deep understanding of client company underwriting philosophies, apply Arch underwriting principles to risk analysis, and determine technical rates and capacities.
  2. Marketing: Execute the branch marketing plan, understand individual client company goals and structures, and develop senior client relationships.
  3. Management: Attract and retain a high-performing team by providing leadership, performance management, and a conducive work environment.
  4. Business Management: Ensure efficient processes, manage expenses, and enhance Arch UK Regional and personal reputation in the marketplace.
  5. Internal/External Relationships: Foster frequent communication with staff and technical support units to clarify and obtain information.

Requirements and Skills

This role requires extensive commercial insurance experience from a sales distribution or underwriting background, with exposure to leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with senior management.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in the market with excellent current contacts with direct clients and brokers in the regional insurance market.
