Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of customs clearance and audit tasks.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members, focusing on customs classification, audit procedures, and trade regulations.
  • Customs Clearance and Audit: Oversee the customs clearance and audit process, ensuring that all goods are imported and processed in accordance with trade regulations and company policies.
  • Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on customs classification procedures, post-clearance audits, and trade regulations to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze customs classification and audit data to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement, using data visualization tools to present findings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customs brokers, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Customs Knowledge: Strong understanding of customs classification, HS codes, GIRs, import controls, and trade regulations.
  • Import Data Experience: Detailed knowledge and experience working with customs import data and post-clearance audits.
  • Qualifications: Level 4+ Diploma in International Trade or other relevant customs and trade certifications.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and develop a team, with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and present findings using data visualization tools.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
