Are you a passionate and dedicated Children's Social Worker looking to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families? We are seeking experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join our dynamic Assessment and Safe and Supported Teams at North Tyneside Council.

About the Role

  1. Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks, developing and implementing effective care plans to safeguard children and promote their well-being.
  2. Work collaboratively with a range of professionals, including police, health, and education, to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection.
  3. Provide high-quality casework, including direct work with children and families, and liaising with external agencies.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements.
  5. Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as necessary.

What We Are Looking For

  • A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, MSW).
  • Significant experience in child protection work, including assessments and case management.
  • A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their well-being.
  • A flexible approach to work.
