About Us
NELFT North East London Foundation Trust provides high-quality community and mental healthcare to over 2 million people in the area.
We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care, and our skilled health professionals are at the forefront of innovative evidence-based practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Blood Collection Specialist to join our dynamic phlebotomy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive prompt and efficient blood collection services.
As a Blood Collection Specialist with NELFT, you will work under the direction of the Phlebotomy Lead to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for service users. You will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in various locations across Barking & Dagenham (B&D), Havering, and Redbridge. In addition to this, we have a small team of phlebotomists who carry out home visits in these areas.
You will work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide excellent patient care, ensuring that all blood collection procedures are conducted efficiently and effectively. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals will be essential in this role.
In return for your hard work and dedication, you can expect a competitive salary of approximately £25,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary, which is paid pro rata for part-time staff.
We place a great deal of importance on welcoming new starters properly, providing comprehensive induction training, and equipping them with the necessary tools and equipment to excel in their roles. Our induction process typically lasts around two weeks and covers mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. During this time, you will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend drop-in sessions focused on engagement, health, and wellbeing, as well as key processes.
This post will be subject to a probationary period, which is a standard procedure for new starters. Internal applicants are exempt from this period unless they are currently part-way through a probationary period or are bank members of staff. We are committed to supporting our employees' development and growth within the organization.
NELFT values diversity and promotes equality in the workplace. We encourage applications from individuals who share our commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and want to be part of a dynamic and supportive team.
