Phlebotomy Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our community phlebotomy team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients in a variety of settings, including clinics and patients' homes.
• Ensure that all blood samples are handled and stored correctly to maintain their integrity.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that blood samples are collected and processed correctly.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Accredited qualification in venepuncture.
• Basic first aid qualification.
• Good communication and IT skills.
• A driver's license and the ability to use a car on a daily basis.
• Broad experience in taking bloods.
• Experience of training junior members of staff in clinical and administrative procedures.
