Reporting to the Home Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all aspects of food service within the facility, ensuring a high-quality dining experience that adheres to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Leading and supervising the culinary team while managing their performance effectively.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards.
- Managing kitchen inventory, equipment, and resources within budgetary constraints.
Essential knowledge & experience:
- Possession of an intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certification from Cater craft or a comparable organization.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols, including the management of hazardous substances (COSHH) and food safety regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in culinary and personnel management.
- Basic understanding of dietary needs for elderly individuals and how food types can affect medication.
- Proficient in the safe operation of kitchen tools and equipment.
Required skills:
- Capable of negotiating, influencing, organizing time, and prioritizing tasks.
- Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment and prepare meals according to established menus.
- Flexible, innovative, and capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
- Basic computer literacy.
