About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding job involves providing high-level support to young people who exhibit complex behaviour. As a dedicated Youth Care Specialist, you will be responsible for communicating effectively, demonstrating patience, empathy, and reliability.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Communication Skills: Develop strong relationships with young people and colleagues through respectful and clear communication.
  • Patience and Empathy: Remain calm and composed when dealing with challenging situations, showing understanding and compassion towards young people.
  • Office Skills: Maintain accurate records, write reports, and perform basic IT tasks efficiently.
  • Reliability and Resilience: Ensure consistent attendance, demonstrate adaptability, and bounce back from difficult situations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with Looked After Children of secondary school age in the UK.
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
  • Ability to provide professional references covering at least 3 years.
  • Your CV should account for all periods since finishing senior school, with explanations for any gaps in employment over 1 month.
  • If you have lived or worked overseas for 6 months or more at any time in the last 10 years while aged 18 or older, an overseas police check is required.
Estimated Salary Range: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
