Nuclear Safety Expertise
AWE's Criticality Safety Group requires experienced Criticality Safety Assessment Specialists to join our team. As a specialist, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in criticality safety assessments.

About the Role
You will work closely with operational teams to ensure that all activities meet stringent safety standards. This involves developing and implementing safety strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as collaborating with operational teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with criticality safety.

What We Offer
AWE offers a competitive salary of £58,000 - £68,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a 9-day working fortnight, market-leading pension scheme, and generous annual leave.

Key Responsibilities
As a Criticality Safety Assessment Specialist, you will:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on criticality safety assessments.
  • Develop and implement safety strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with criticality safety.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Honours degree in science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in nuclear physics, criticality safety assessment techniques, and principles.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements for fissile operations within a nuclear licensed site.
