Job Title: Fire Design

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Design professional to join our team at Protec Fire Detection PLC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design fire alarm systems in accordance with British Standard 5839.
  • Produce accurate quotations based on client requirements and British Standards.
  • Lay out fire sensors and associated equipment, coordinating with other M&E services and architectural/structural features.
  • Liaise with Sales Manager/Sales Engineers throughout the design process.
  • Internal checking of design drawings and preparation of system architecture.
  • Developing system schematic diagrams and preparing design documentation for commissioning.
Person Specification:
  • Candidates must demonstrate necessary qualifications, experience, skills, and traits to meet the requirements.
  • Essential qualifications include a full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC etc.
  • Working knowledge of current British Standards is essential.
  • Experience within a similar role on large multi-service projects is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work with contractors, architects, and other personnel, and proficiency in Microsoft computer packages are essential.
Requirements:
  • Ability to produce and read technical drawings and specifications.
  • An excellent eye for detail and creative thinking with the ability to see and implement practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam software is desirable.
