Job Title: System Engineer - DCS & Safety

Yokogawa UK Ltd is seeking a highly driven System Engineer (DCS & Safety) to join our team in Aberdeen, Scotland. As a key member of our Customer Centric Team, you will provide first-class support and technical expertise to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Configure DCS software from client design documentation, including user requirement specifications and control philosophies.
  2. Rationalize alarms and understand EEMUA 191.
  3. Program continuous process control and batch process software.
  4. Classify functional safety SIL and perform SIF calculations.
  5. Design and implement safety systems, including function block programming and hardware interface.
  6. Modify existing safety systems and conduct impact analysis.
  7. Work independently with minimal supervision, while being an effective team player.
  8. Conduct internal testing, execute or lead Factory Acceptance Tests, and manage site installation.
  9. Ensure system handover, complete necessary documents, and formalize project closures.
  10. Communicate professionally, absorb and impart factual information, and work within standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
  1. Highly motivated and flexible individual willing to work in an international company.
  2. Respect, collaboration, and integrity are essential values.
  3. Experience in a similar role within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or Industrial Automation environment.
  4. Hold a TUV Functional Safety Certificate or demonstrate knowledge of.
  5. Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering or process-related subject.
  6. Practical knowledge of Management Systems, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO 45001.
  7. Full UK driving license.

  2. Standard working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Flexibility required to meet customer and business needs.

This is a permanent position, with our offices based in Aberdeen, Scotland. We offer a healthy work-life balance with a blend of working from home and the office. Travel to customer sites in Europe, the UK, offshore, and overseas may be required for each project.
