We are seeking a highly skilled Control & Instrument Project Engineer to join our team at Orion Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of control and instrumentation systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical support for Instrument, DCS, Control, F&G, and Safety systems engineering.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of software security management and software change procedures.
  3. Support the control and management of cyber security for our operations.
  4. Collaborate with offshore operations teams and occasionally visit offshore sites.
  5. Ensure that all I&C modifications are compliant with relevant standards and procedures.
  6. Provide operational and specialist instrument engineering, control, and safety systems support to modification or study teams or projects.
  7. Assist in setting budgets and managing expenditure for all work scopes.
  8. Generate scopes of work, detailed cost estimates, and compile maintenance and minor modification work packs for offshore implementation.
  9. Maintain I&C specifications, standards, and procedures and be the local owner of appropriate Instrument, Control, and software management procedures.
  10. Conduct Technical Integrity Audits in line with software, I&C systems, and maintenance as part of the Technical Audit Programme.
  11. Manage offshore FPSO construction, maintenance, and materials offshore work.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in an engineering discipline and relevant engineering experience, either onshore or offshore. Previous experience with ABB ICCS systems, specifically the 800xA platform, would be an advantage. Chartered Engineer or qualifications leading to this are desirable. Significant experience in Oil and Gas Operations with experience in a similar role is essential. The ideal candidate will have skills in Instrument and Control engineering problem-solving, particularly with modern microprocessor-based control, shutdown, metering, and Fire and Gas systems. TUV (or equivalent) Functional Safety Engineer qualification is desirable. Knowledge of HSE Cyber Security Operational Guidance OG-86 is also desirable.
