We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Orion Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Instrument and Control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Instrument, DCS, Control, F&G, and Safety systems engineering.
- Assist in the development and implementation of software security management and software change procedures.
- Contribute to the control and management of cyber security, ensuring the integrity of our systems and data.
- Support offshore operations and participate in occasional offshore visits to ensure seamless system performance.
- Ensure all I&C modifications are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with modification or study teams and projects to provide operational and specialist instrument engineering, control, and safety systems support.
- Assist in budgeting and expenditure management for all work scopes, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Develop scopes of work, detailed cost estimates, and compile maintenance and minor modification work packs for offshore implementation.
- Maintain I&C specifications, standards, and procedures, and serve as the local owner of relevant Instrument, Control, and software management procedures.
- Conduct Technical Integrity Audits in line with software, I&C systems, and maintenance as part of the Technical Audit Programme.
- Manage offshore FPSO construction, maintenance, and materials work.
Requirements
A degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience, either onshore or offshore, are essential. Previous experience with ABB ICCS systems, particularly the 800xA platform, would be advantageous. Chartered Engineer or qualifications leading to this are desirable. Significant experience in Oil and Gas Operations, with experience in a similar role, is required. Demonstrate skills in Instrument and Control engineering problem-solving, particularly with modern microprocessor-based control, shutdown, metering, and Fire and Gas systems. TUV (or equivalent) Functional Safety Engineer qualification and knowledge of HSE Cyber Security Operational Guidance OG-86 are desirable.
