Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as an Ambulance Care Assistant - Band 3. As a key member of our Patient Transport Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients and their families.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to and from treatment centers in a comfortable, caring, and compassionate manner.
  • Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for patients and their families.
  • Participate in the PTS Rota and cover shifts as required.
  • Undertake daily vehicle checks to ensure the ambulance vehicle is roadworthy.
  • Administer 'ambulance nursing' to an appropriate skill level in accordance with training received.
  • Manoeuvre patients into ambulance vehicles using either the patient's wheelchair or the vehicle equipment.
  • Have the physical ability to use the Moving Patient equipment provided.
  • Promote and maintain good internal and external communications links with patients, colleagues, and associated services.
  • Operate any communication system supplied/fitted/operated by the Trust in accordance with its Policies and Procedures.
Person SpecificationQualifications and Training
  • Full manual UK driving license with no more than 3 points for speeding.
  • Community First responder Qualified.
  • GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths or English or demonstrable experience.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Demonstrable experience as an ACA.
