Senior Commercial Strategist

Join Hudson Shribman as a Commercial Manager and take on a challenging role that requires strategic thinking, leadership, and commercial acumen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing commercial strategies, and leading a team of sales and technical functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement commercial activities in close coordination with other departments.
- Manage technical and sales representatives to achieve sales targets.
- Develop a sustainable business platform with a shared vision for the business and selected customers and distribution partners.
- Work closely with the portfolio team to create, evaluate, and select projects, and contribute to the development of the regional strategy of the portfolio.
- Implement strategic directions and contribute to discussions and business strategies to ensure short and long-term sustainable growth of business in EMEA.
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Develop and execute pre-launch and launch plans for new products and innovations entering the market with the Portfolio and Marketing teams.
- Lead the work to achieve sales and profit budget set for the region.
- Develop and lead execution of sales effectiveness programs across the market in agreement with the Commercial Director.
- Develop sales plans for the UK and Ireland.
- Propose new projects or Product life cycle management investments that fit the local market's needs, directly impacting and driving sales forward, ensuring a sustainable business.
- Ensure the transfer of technical and marketing knowledge from the Portfolio and Development teams to the country sales and technical team.
- Lead the formation of the local team in the British Isles.
- Develop the team and each individual to foster and maintain motivation and sense of urgency.
- Identify high-potential employees and propose and support their professional development plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or Agricultural related fields is essential.
- MBA is desirable.
- Knowledge of the agricultural/horticultural markets.
- Experience of working in a commercial environment, within the agrichemicals/agrochemicals industry.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
- High levels of commercial acumen.
- Team management – looking to grow a team in this field.
- Collaborative.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to understand technical information.
- Able to effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills; written, verbal and listening.
- Proactive & enthusiastic individual with a self-driven and motivated attitude.
- Ability to travel as required with the role – Approx. 35% of the time UK/Ireland (+ abroad 2/3 times a year).
Salary dependent on experience Bonus: 20% | Holiday: 25 days / Car allowance (c9k) /commuting allowance; 9% NC pension; Private healthcare and dental plan. Life assurance 4x annual salary/Gym membership; flexible working (Home based – could be based variable locations across UK incl Ireland)
