Are you passionate about enhancing the mental well-being of older adults? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a specialist clinical psychologist within Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP). You will contribute to the development of our psychology pathways, working closely with our established MHSOP Psychology team in Leicestershire. We welcome applications from band 7 psychologists who may be appointed with a development plan, aiming to work towards an 8a role in the future.

You will be part of a dynamic and supportive department consisting of Trainees, Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, band 8a Clinical Psychologists, band 8b Clinical Psychologists, and a Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Our team prioritizes the psychological needs of older people, engaging in regular clinical discussions, peer support, and exploration of relevant service issues. We encourage professional growth through departmental CPD topic discussions and relevant training opportunities.

Main Responsibilities

As a specialist clinical psychologist, you will provide high-quality clinical psychology input within MHSOP, aligned with the strategic aims of the service. Your duties will include:

  • Providing expert clinical psychology services to older adults
  • Contributing to the development of psychology pathways across the service
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care
