Trainee Architectural Technologist Opportunity
Copperfield Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Trainee Architectural Technologist to assist with the technical design of assigned projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in Architectural Technologist or a graduate with an HNC or degree in Architecture or Building studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient in CAD principles and drawing confidently.
- Proficient in Autocad.
- Good construction knowledge (Building Regulations, NHBC, British Standards, Codes of Practice and similar statutory legislation) for the production of working drawings.
- Create basic building plans and elevations (optimisation drawings).
- Edit plans and elevations.
- Prepare, develop and edit under guidance of the Principle/Senior drawings such as cycle store, garages, car ports, bathroom plans and elevations and other documents relating to the project.
- Create electrical layouts.
- Create fire strategy drawings from general arrangements.
- Create PDF's from CAD drawings.
- Upload files to document hosting web site(s).
- Production of accurate information, drawings and details as necessary for the various stages of the project from scheme design to construction drawings under guidance.
- Accurately interpret the requirements for each project with the Principle/Senior, to ensure that the company provides and meets the client's expectations.
- Undertake technical research i.e. products, Building Regulations and building materials.
- Assist in the administration tasks associated with the production of the project.
- Take an active role in Continuing Professional Development to enhance and contribute to construction skills whilst preparing production information.
- Work to the project programme and timescales allocated.
