Senior Design Manager

MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our Engineering team in the Essex & Suffolk region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design team in delivering high-quality design solutions that meet customer requirements and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying with relevant local specifications, codes, rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Identify and manage H&S hazards, communicating residual risks to stakeholders.
  • Lead the Design team in delivering design responsibilities, ensuring a focused approach to meet customer requirements and project objectives.
  • Be accountable for expenditure, drive efficiency, and manage overall outturn costs for design.
  • Organise all elements of design, documenting it in the Design Management Plan and preparing monthly status update reports.
  • Attend and contribute to relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.
  • Ensure technical solutions outperform on costs while maintaining quality standards and delivery on time.
  • Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
  • Ensure technical work is undertaken to correct standards and specifications, following appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to achieving sustainability targets, particularly by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints of solutions.
  • Communicate and work effectively with people from other partner organisations, backgrounds, and disciplines.
  • Recognise and provide exceptional customer service both internally and with partners and externally with the client, their customers, and the general public.
  • Represent the whole of the MWH business and RSK Group of companies in all client contacts and promote the MWH / RSK reputation.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
