Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team at Hestia Housing Support. In this role, you will work with mothers and their children who have experienced domestic abuse, providing emotional support, guidance, and practical assistance to help them rebuild their lives.

About the Role:
This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach. As a Family Support Specialist, you will be responsible for developing positive relationships with service users, supporting them in achieving their goals, and advocating on their behalf when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to help service users achieve their goals.
  • Work closely with statutory and voluntary organizations to ensure seamless support and advocacy for service users.
  • Conduct home visits, group sessions, and other activities to engage with service users and promote healthy relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver training programs and resources on domestic abuse and related topics.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with families and individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, non-judgmental, and empathetic approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary:
The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
