Capital Equipment Design Engineer

As a Capital Equipment Design Engineer at Austin Fraser, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of bespoke labelling and sleeving systems. With 30 years of experience in this field, our team is constantly evolving and seeking talented individuals to join us.
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Project Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations and lead design team, you will be responsible for managing multiple cradle-to-grave projects from concept to completion. Your expertise in CAD packages, particularly SolidWorks, will be essential in producing high-quality designs and technical specifications.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in machine component and sheet metal/folding techniques. A keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills will also be required to work effectively with our manufacturing and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce high-quality CAD designs to support the design and build phase
- Create detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for each project
- Support the build and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of CAD packages, particularly SolidWorks
- Experience in machine component and sheet metal/folding techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum
