Job Summary

The Early Years Learning Assistant Outdoors will provide support to pupils in an outdoor learning environment, promoting their development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering outdoor learning activities
  • Support pupils in their learning and development
  • Work with the teaching team to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a basic literacy and numeracy at Standard Grade General level or SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, or National Certificate unit in Childcare & Education, or equivalent competency.

They will also be familiar with child development and able to respond to the needs of individual pupils.

Able to undertake additional training courses, such as first aid and calm techniques, to be fully competent in the role.

Desirable to have a D1 category on their driving licence.

Working Arrangements

36 hours per week, flexible condensed over 4 days, 7.30-5pm.

52 weeks per year.

Successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Minimum actual salary for this position is £27,047 per annum.

Regulated Work with Children

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act.

Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children.
