About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and empathetic individual to join our team as a Dementia Advocate Volunteer. In this role, you will be visiting people living with dementia in the community to support with advocacy cases and ensure they can express their views, concerns, and wishes.
Through establishing strong trusting relationships with the people you're supporting and their carers, you will make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia, ensuring they can make choices and have their rights upheld.
The Alzheimer's Society Dementia Adviser and Support team are committed to empowering people living with dementia to have their voices heard. As a Dementia Advocate Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission and making a positive impact in your local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit people living with dementia in the community to support with advocacy cases
- Establish strong trusting relationships with the people you're supporting and their carers
- Ensure people living with dementia can express their views, concerns, and wishes
