Project Management Specialist for Capital Estates

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre that offers the best cancer care available worldwide. As a self-motivated and well-organised Senior Project Manager, you will join the busy Capital Project team based in Chelsea.



Main Responsibilities


  2. To support the Director of Projects and Estates in managing the Capital Estates Programme.
  3. Professionally accountable for estates project construction and implementation of delegated schemes within the Trust's Investment Programme.
  4. To work as a specialist professional as part of the Projects Department.
  5. To provide expert specialist and professional construction and estates projects advice to other Estates staff, Directors, Senior Management, Trust Boards, and external agencies.
  6. To independently manage a portfolio of complicated delegated projects from £30K to £100M from inception to completion, including project management, design, contract administration, site supervision, and commissioning under the Trust Capital Programme.
  7. To manage Capital Budgets, purchase professional services, contractor works, and physical assets as part of the Trust Capital Programme.
  8. To deputise for Senior Managers within the Projects Department as and when required.
  9. Responsible for the operational commissioning of health buildings.


Key Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with extensive demonstrable pre-qualification practical experience in project management in a relevant and appropriate Health Service environment and knowledge and experience of relevant Health and Safety legislation and in particular the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.



The ideal candidate will have a management qualification, a record of Continued Professional Development, and a highly proficient use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficient in the management of formal construction contracts, NEC/JCT, and experience of presenting scheme proposals to Senior Trust management is desirable.
