Academic Leadership Opportunity in Soft Matter Physics

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate academic to join our Soft Matter Physics Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Leeds. As a Lecturer or Associate Professor in Soft Matter Physics, you will contribute to academic leadership in your area, promoting values of collegiality within the academic community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality research in Soft Matter Physics, with a focus on liquid crystals
  • Provide academic leadership and contribute to the development of the Soft Matter Physics Group
  • Teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Engage with external collaborators, including standards committees and industrial partners
  • Present research at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Experience of research in Soft Matter Physics, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and successful research grant applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Passion for delivering an exceptional student experience
