Academic Leadership Opportunity in Soft Matter Physics

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate academic to join our well-established Soft Matter Physics Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Leeds. As a Lecturer or Associate Professor in Physics, you will contribute to academic leadership in your area and have a track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with theoreticians, chemists, and experimentalists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Soft Matter Physics
  • Conduct high-quality research in Soft Matter Physics, including liquid crystals, and publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Engage with external collaborators, such as standards committees and industrial partners
  • Present research at international conferences
  • Contribute to academic leadership and provide guidance to junior colleagues
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Experience of research in Soft Matter Physics, including good publications and successful research grant applications
  • Track record of interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to provide academic leadership and contribute to the development of the Soft Matter Physics Group
