Finance Administrator Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Assistant Accountant and report directly to the Finance Director in a reputable business in the construction industry.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience in finance and develop their skills in financial administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Upload and process all supplier/plant invoices to Xero, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
  • Raise client invoices to the QS claim, maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Monitor purchase order processing systems, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding invoices and credit notes, ensuring prompt and efficient communication.
  • Input weekly paid subcontractors on the wage spreadsheet, upload to Xero and raise payments for payment runs, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Add subcontractor invoices to the CIS spreadsheet, accurately tracking and managing finances.
  • Balanace monthly supplier statements and raise month-end payments, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in running reports for journal reconciliations, providing valuable insights and supporting financial decision-making.
  • Flll in new credit account forms for new suppliers, expanding the company's network and partnerships.
  • Produce cost reports for monthly client valuations, presenting data-driven findings and recommendations.
Administrative Tasks:
  • Answer calls and deal with queries, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Monitor hire sheets, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Ensure the CIS spreadsheet is updated on a weekly basis, staying on top of changing circumstances.
  • Review and update monthly account calendar for staff holidays, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Update the training matrix and ensure all training is in date, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Order & monitor office stationery/kitchen supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized workspace.
  • Deal with supplier and site queries, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Finance Administrator, Finance Clerk, Administrator or Junior Finance Assistant, with a strong foundation in financial principles.
  • Experience in sales and purchase ledger tasks, understanding the complexities of financial management.
  • Competent in using Excel, leveraging software to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Experience in using Xero software would be beneficial, but not essential, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong communication, exceptional task prioritisation, and organisational skills, working collaboratively within a dynamic team.

The salary for this role is £20,000 - £24,000 + benefits, reflecting the company's commitment to fair compensation and employee satisfaction.
